Overview

Break Time Store Managers oversee the performance of an assigned Break Time Convenience Store. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating employees with a focus on customer service and store sales. Store Managers are energetic leaders who believe it only takes a moment to make your day better.

• Working with customers - Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers and encouraging the store team to do the same; greet and thank each customer and provide fast and friendly service; support peak hours; handle complaints quickly and courteously; conduct accurate and efficient transactions.
• Day-to-day store operations - Oversee all aspects of store operation including daily reporting, banking, inventory, bookkeeping, and fuel management; ensure the facility and all equipment and property are well maintained and in good condition; maintain store cleanliness; ensure timely open and close and observation of all scheduled hours; execute food programs including promoting food service and safety.
• Merchandising and sales - Ensure proper execution of marketing programs; identify opportunities to increase sales; perform merchandising activities including pricing, promotions and sales, suggestive selling, vendor check-in, and keeping merchandise stocked, clean, fronted, and faced (including the cooler).
• Supervising - Oversee general operations of assigned store; supervise store employees, including scheduling and organizing work; provide clear direction; train, develop and motivate employees; enforce company policies and safety requirements; monitor productivity; conduct performance evaluations and resolve conflicts; review and approve employee time entry and ensure adherence to posted schedules and proper clocking procedures.
• Financial responsibility - Understand and manage store finances and profitability; control shortages and expenses; participate in cash, lottery, cigarettes and general inventory audits; investigate results and plan for improvement; meet or exceed goals for sales and controllable expenses; perform loss control related to cash handling, lottery, food waste, employee purchases, and merchandise.
• Teamwork - Recruit, train, coach, and develop a successful team; promote professionalism; create a positive work culture; lead the team to adhere to local, state and federal regulations affecting job responsibilities and duties and store operations.
• Working with technology - Use the store's technology; perform calculations to make change, complete shift reports, and count product; follow scheduling templates.
• All Break Time employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position-specific policies and procedures. Employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

• Prior management/leadership experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 18 years of age or older
• Availability to work and/or support all shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance with adequate transportation to/from bank (vehicle must be locked and secured when transporting deposits)
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Works well individually and in leading a team
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete shift reports, and account for numbers during vendor check-in
• Ability to learn new concepts, use technical materials, and operate a computer and office equipment
• Ability and willingness to ascend and descend ladders to handle inventory or products
• Ability to perform these duties with accuracy and minimal supervision
• Physical ability to move and position products in the cooler (temperatures as low as 30 degrees) for up to one hour and in the freezer (0 degrees)
• Physical ability to move and retrieve products and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to observe items and the work environment for safety concerns
• Ability to stand for up to nine hours per shift
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English to communicate effectively
