POSITION SUMMARY

The Field Service Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting all field service activities related to the installation, troubleshooting, warranty work, repairs, and punch list resolution of medium voltage switch gear and related electrical equipment. This role reports to the Quality Manager and serves as the primary liaison between customers, field technicians, project managers, job site leaders, and internal departments to ensure field work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements and company standards.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION

  • Coordinate field service activities for switch gear installation, testing, warranty work, repairs, retrofits, and punch list completion.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customers, contractors, job site supervisors, and service personnel.
  • Schedule and dispatch field service technicians based on project requirements, skill sets, and geographic location.
  • Develop and maintain field service schedules to ensure customer commitments and project milestones are achieved.
  • Monitor project status and communicate schedule changes, delays, and progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Work with customers to understand service issues, equipment concerns, and operational challenges.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting efforts when equipment or installation issues arise.
  • Assist in developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions to resolve customer issues.
  • Identify parts, consumables, and special materials required for field service activities.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, inventory, production, and logistics teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Ensure replacement parts, warranty components, and installation materials are shipped to technicians or customer locations according to project schedules.
  • Coordinate rental equipment required for field service projects, including lifts, cranes, testing equipment, generators, tooling, and specialty equipment.
  • Monitor equipment usage and rental costs to support efficient project execution.
  • Ensure all field technicians have the required safety training, certifications, and qualifications prior to site assignment.
  • Verify compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, customer-specific safety requirements, and site-specific safety plans.
  • Support incident investigations and corrective actions when required.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout field operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, technician reports, warranty claims, corrective actions, and project documentation.
  • Track and communicate service metrics, project status, and customer issues.
  • Ensure service records are completed accurately and stored in company systems.

YOU HAVE

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Business, Project Management, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in field service coordination, project coordination, electrical equipment manufacturing, power distribution equipment, or related industries preferred.
  • Knowledge of medium voltage switch gear, electrical distribution systems, power systems, or industrial electrical equipment preferred.
  • Experience coordinating field technicians, contractors, or service personnel.
  • Understanding of or ability to learn warranty processes, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and industrial safety practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external customers.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, drawings, and service reports.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites as needed.
  • Ability to access industrial, utility, and construction environments.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and comply with customer site requirements.
