The Callaway County Road & Bridge Department is accepting applications for a full‑time Equipment Operator I / Maintenance Worker III position.

Callaway County Road & Bridge is located at 5901 County Road 302 in Fulton, MO 65251. The normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. However, emergency situations, such as inclement weather, may require employees to perform outside of normal working hours.

The starting salary range for this position is $43,264–$46,592 annually ($20.80–$22.40 per hour) with a full benefits package, including free health insurance, two retirement programs, paid vacation/sick/holiday leave, free life insurance, and more.

The job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Operating the following types of equipment:
  Tractor or lowboy, Motor Grader, Backhoe, Oil distributor, Box Paver, Hydro‑Vac Excavator, Compaction tampers and rollers, Crack Seal machine, skid loaders, mowers (hitch & boom), Excavator, High‑lift, and Dozer.
• Operating a single axle or tandem axle dump truck.
• Operating small to large sized motor vehicles and a variety of equipment to haul materials and support construction, repair, maintenance, and replacement of County roads.
• Performing snow removal activities.
• Mowing along County roads.
• Assisting with loading, securing, and unloading materials and equipment.
• Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment; referring defects or repairs to supervisor.
• Receiving special assignments from Road & Bridge Foreman.
• Other duties, as needed.

• Applicant must have at least three years of experience operating equipment, or a combination of experience and education in a related field.
• Applicant must possess a valid Class A CDL with Air Brake endorsement.
• Applicant must pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
• Applicant must be authorized to drive a commercial vehicle by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
