Position
Cayuga Community College, a unit of the State University of New York with locations in the cities of Auburn and Fulton, is a two-year community college sponsored by Cayuga County. Committed to being the community college for both Cayuga and Oswego counties, the College offers transfer and career-oriented curricula on a degree and certificate basis through day, evening, online, and summer sessions.
For groups such as high school students, government agencies, retirees, and industrial, business and professional personnel, the College also offers credit and credit-free specialized instruction according to need and interest.
Part-Time 20 Hours Per Week

Reports To:
Director, Resources for Learning
Specific Functions:
- Assist students, faculty, college and community patrons with the proper use of various library resources to address their information or technical need.
- Refer library patrons who require research assistance to a Cayuga librarian, or show them how to access Ask Us 24/7 if a Cayuga librarian is unavailable.
- Refer students and other library patrons to appropriate Academic Support resources.
- Assist Learning Commons patrons and staff with computer hardware and software, and submit IT help desk tickets for technology problems in the Learning Commons as needed.
- Compile and maintain data for the Learning Commons, including service desks, gate counts, customer satisfaction and other assessment measures.
- Participate in technical services functions under the direction of Librarians.
- Create records in ALMA for library reserves materials.
- Assist with records management in ALMA, including updating and deleting records.
- Coordinate the removal of physical items from library collections.
- Catalog Fulton Library books as directed by a Librarian.
- Participate in Learning Commons projects as requested.
- Complete special projects that support library services as requested.
General Functions:
- Perform other duties as required to support the overall operation of the Library and Student Support in the Learning Commons Environment.
- Actively participate in the assessment function of the Learning Commons.
- Prepare periodic and special reports as requested.
- Evening hours may be required.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, such as Microsoft Office, and the online environment.
- Excellent customer service skills and verbal/written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working in a library
