Constellation Energy seeks a Fire Protection Programs Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain fire protection and life-safety programs for utility facilities. In this role, you will perform fire hazard analyses, support system design and modifications, and ensure compliance with NFPA codes, NRC, and other regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include preparing technical documentation, coordinating inspections and testing, leading fire risk assessments, and supporting incident investigations.
You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to drive continuous improvement and support critical energy infrastructure reliability and safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain facility fire protection and life-safety programs
- Perform fire hazard and risk analyses for utility and energy facilities
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, NRC, and other applicable codes and standards
- Support design, modification, and review of fire protection systems
- Coordinate and document inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire systems
- Prepare technical reports, procedures, and regulatory submittals
- Lead and support fire risk assessments and drills with site teams
- Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams on fire protection issues
- Drive continuous improvement in fire safety performance and reliability
