Grant Financial Manager

Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Grant Financial Manager to help ensure the financial strength and sustainability of programs that make a difference throughout our community.

In this role, you'll oversee budgeting, financial reporting, grant compliance, and fiscal operations for a diverse portfolio of programs and funding sources. You'll partner closely with program leadership, executive management, funders, and state agencies to ensure critical resources are managed effectively and aligned with organizational goals.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets, grant budgets, and long-range capital budgets.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide ongoing budget analysis and forecasting.
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses for program staff, agency leadership, and executive management.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements, contract terms, GAAP, agency policies, and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Review and reconcile revenue, expenses, payroll allocations, and assigned accounts.
  • Conduct financial reviews and audits of grant expenditures and records.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with funders, state agencies, and internal stakeholders on fiscal matters.
  • Supervise and mentor finance staff.
  • Approve purchases and expenditures in accordance with contracts and internal controls.
  • Support the development and enhancement of financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in accounting, budgeting, grants management, financial reporting, or financial analysis.
  • Experience with in human services, nonprofit organizations, or grant-funded environments is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management.
  • Experience building, monitoring, and analyzing budgets.
  • Knowledge of grant compliance and contract requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
  • Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.
