Position: Med-Surg Nurse (RN) in Fulton, NY
A registered nurse opportunity is available on a medical-surgical unit specializing in stroke and medical patients. This role is based in the Fulton, NY area and offers a contract assignment, ideal for experienced acute care nurses seeking to advance their clinical expertise with a focus on stroke care. Candidates within a 50-mile radius of the location are eligible for a local rate.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients, with an emphasis on stroke care management
• Utilize clinical judgment and evidence-based practices to assess, plan, and implement patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
• Perform accurate and timely documentation in EPIC electronic health records
• Maintain certification and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS assessments
• Work every other weekend as part of the staffing schedule

Qualifications:

• Active and clear RN license
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with demonstrated expertise in stroke patient care
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification required prior to starting
• Experience charting in EPIC preferred
• Flexibility to work a schedule that includes weekend shifts
• Preferred familiarity working in a medical-surgical or similar acute care environment
