Motor Vehicle Operator

We have an anticipated opening for a Motor Vehicle Operator for our Food Service Department. This is a 12 month position. The hours are Monday-Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm. The Motor Vehicle Operator is responsible to manage the safe, timely distribution of meals, milk, and supplies across all district facilities. This critical role ensures our students have the fuel they need to learn and succeed every day.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Daily Deliveries: Safely operate district trucks and delivery vans to transport bulk food, milk, and catering supplies between the central kitchen, local elementary schools, and secondary campuses.
• Temperature Control: Monitor and maintain precise food temperatures during transit to guarantee compliance with USDA and NYSED safety and health codes.
• Loading & Unloading: Safely lift and move heavy crates, milk cases, and supplies, ensuring cargo is properly secured and organized.
• Inventory & Record-Keeping: Work with the Director of School Nutrition to verify delivery manifests and assist with loading/unloading dock inventory.
• Sanitation: Keep the interior of the delivery vehicle clean and sanitized according to district food safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• License: Clean and valid New York State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or higher (with appropriate endorsements), or a clean Class D driver's license with a safe driving record, depending on vehicle weight classes.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of commercial driving, delivery, or relevant transportation experience.
• Physical Demands: Must be physically capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. and standing, bending, or walking for extended periods.

Work Schedule & Compensation

• Compensation: $19.85 p/h
