Product Verification & Validation Engineer
Payrate: $41.89- $41.89/hr committed to designing innovative, quality products that our customers depend on. But before any new products ever make it to customers, they must be tested according to rigorous specifications. Be part of the team where we design, test, and manufacture world-class Commercial Mowing & Golf equipment. As a Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) Engineer. You'll ensure that prototype components and machines meet durability and performance requirements at key stages of the product development process.
Responsibilities:
- Manage test plans including virtual simulation, lab testing, performance evaluation, and field testing.
- Support root cause investigations and data acquisition to understand failures and enable quick resolution.
- Interpret test results and calculate reliability of prototypes, provide information for leadership decisions, and forecast warranty/failure rates.
- Provide technical support to marketing, product engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply management across the product lifecycle.
- Benchmark competitive products to inform design direction and identify performance opportunities.
- Communicate technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely with peers and leadership in written and verbal forms.
- Remain highly organized while managing multiple tasks and data streams.
- Work effectively with diverse technical teams of design engineers, lab engineers, technicians, mechanics, field sites, and structural analysts.
- Learn and operate products. Develop user perspective to become a "voice of the customer" and plan tests that accurately represent customer usage.
Requirements:
- Basic engineering design experience using CAD (Creo/ProE preferred)
- Basic statistics and data analysis experience
- Hands-on skills and aptitude with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and/or software systems
- Familiarity with phases of product development (scoping, design, analysis, testing, customer feedback, and manufacturing)
- Leadership, communication, and people skills
- Ability to analyze complex data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations
- Ability to communicate within a cross functional team across multiple sites and drive results
- Ability to write clearly and concisely to document test procedures and communicate results
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically to support real-world tests, data collection, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural, etc.) or equivalent work experience with a technical degree
- Knowledge of commercial mowing or golf course maintenance equipment, or experience with the landscaping or golf course maintenance industry
- Industry experience in product development, testing, analysis, or design
- Industry experience with mechanical systems, electrical systems, or data analysis
- Project management experience (planning and execution)
- Experience with digital data acquisition systems and sensors (e.g. thermocouples, strain gauges, pressure sensors, etc.)
- Experience with statistics or Six Sigma
Pay Transparency:
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $41.89 - $41.89 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
