RN CRISIS

An RN Crisis Nurse will, under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON), provide nursing care to clients as outlined in section 2 of the NC "Article 9A. Nursing Practice Act" and rules of the NC Board of Nursing.

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and current North Carolina RN Licensure required.
• One Year Nursing Experience Preferred.
• Must attend 12 hours of Person Centered Thinking training prior to or within 90 days of hire.
• The candidate must pass the criminal record history clearance and a child abuse clearance and any other required clearances as well as possess a valid driver's license.
• LSCI, SCM, Ukeru training as appropriate for position.

• Provide nursing care based on client needs.
• Assist with the development of plan of care.
• Observe client behavior and physical status and notify Licensed Clinician, DON and/or Physician of changes in condition.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment that respects client's rights.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, encouraging independent behavior when appropriate.
• May supervise LPN's during shift.
• Assist in the performance and/or observation of restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved Kids Peace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally and/or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
• Administer medications as per Physician's orders and observe, record, and report evidence of adverse reactions to medications.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and Leadership.
