RN Wound Nurse (Every Other Weekend)

Fuquay-Varina Health & Rehabilitation Center – Fuquay-Varina, NC

Fuquay-Varina Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Nurse to join our team in every other weekend position.

As a Wound Nurse, you are at the forefront of our ability to provide Care Beyond Compare through specialized wound assessment, treatment, and prevention. In this role, you will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure residents receive the highest quality of care, promoting healing, comfort, and improved outcomes.

What You'll Do
  • Perform weekly and ongoing wound assessments
  • Develop and update individualized wound care treatment plans
  • Administer prescribed treatments and dressing changes
  • Monitor and document wound healing progress
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
  • Educate nursing staff on wound prevention and skin integrity
  • Assist with admission skin assessments
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal documentation standards
  • Support infection control and quality improvement initiatives
What You Need
  • Active, unencumbered RN license in North Carolina
  • Wound care experience required (certification preferred)
  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
  • Strong assessment and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize clinical needs
