ACCOUNTANT - JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
The Water Works & Sewer Board of the City of Gadsden, Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Accountant. This is a full‑time role offering Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, Tier I State of Alabama Retirement benefits, and a competitive salary range of $59,500-$81,000 annually.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in governmental accounting, fiscal and budgetary planning or maintenance, auditing, computerized accounting, or investment accounting.
- Proficiency in SAGE 100 and strong computer/data processing skills preferred.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger
- Process Payroll
- Prepare financial statements and related reports
- Maintain accurate records of assets and liabilities
- Perform additional accounting duties as assigned
