Job Overview

The Maintenance Shop Clerk will undertake a variety of day‑to‑day office and clerical tasks. The position is integral in ensuring that Maintenance office operations run smoothly and successfully support other business activities. The goal is to ensure that maintenance office operations are efficient and add maximum value to the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the shop program (RTA) related to inventory, parts, work orders, shop supplies, etc.
  • Enter truck hours daily to support the PM process.
  • Handle daily paperwork and work orders from technicians, entering them into Dossier.
  • Perform monthly inventory for fuel, fluids, parts, and tires.
  • Spot‑check inventory for control purposes.
  • Process parts for technicians: receive, store, and return unnecessary or warranty parts.
  • Keep PMs up to date for tracking, processing, and completion.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails related to maintenance.
  • Maintain and manage the PO log and the declining balance sheet.
  • Maintain a daily budget for shop spend.
  • Maintain tire inventory.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience as office clerk or a similar role.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience in the Solid Waste Industry preferred.

Specialized Knowledge

Required:

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team environment.
  • Ability to complete projects and assignments with minimal direction from leadership.
Physical Demands
  • Light lifting of 20‑25 pounds in an office environment.
Work Environment
  • Office:
    Standard office equipment; work usually performed in an office setting free from disagreeable elements.
  • Travel:
    As required for the position.
