Overview
We are seeking a Computer Tomography Tech II
, sometimes referred to as a Radiology Technologist or CT Tech. As the CT Technologist II you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners and X-ray machines to produce cross-sectional images of patient's internal organs and tissues. You will assist in diagnosing medical conditions and the treatment plan process, by producing high-quality images that help healthcare providers make informed decisions about our patient care.
Bonus Options: up to $10,000

Shift's Available: Night (night and weekend shift differential pay)
Hours: 10-hour shifts (7 on, 7 off)
Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center - Gadsden, AL

To perform duties in this position you must be certified in two modalities.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the CT table and explain the procedure to them with empathy.
- Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, adjusting settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure; maintain radiation safety at all times.
- Monitor patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Assist other radiologists; may assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures.
- Accountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners / X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images.
- Responsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, ensuring equipment is in good operating order, and following infection control and hygiene protocols.
- Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) activities and assist in maintaining Performance Improvement Programs (PIP).
- Maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accreditation by the American Heart Association (AHA) and Alabama State Board of Healing Arts license.
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
- Effective July 1, 2017 appropriate national certifications in two modalities required.
- Current BCLS (AHA).
- Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations.
- One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred.
- Proficient computer skills.
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
- One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred.
