Basic patient care: help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating;
Vital signs monitoring: take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation;
Mobility assistance: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices; EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning though Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) don't usually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off and immediately alert registered nurses;
Observation: monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staff
