Pharmacy Technician

Hours: 10-hour shift: 9:30a - 7:30p

Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center– Gadsden, AL

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician,sometimes referred to as a Registered Certificated Pharmacy Technician , Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) or Board-Certified Pharmacy Technician.

The Pharmacy Technicians support Pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, including sterile IVs, chemotherapy, and unit-dose drugs for patients. They manage medication inventory across patient care areas,maintain automated dispensing systems, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in patient safety by verifying orders, preventing errors, and ensuringtimelydelivery of critical medications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Prepare and dispense medications including unit-dose, IV admixtures, chemotherapy, andoperateautomated dispensing cabinets
• Manage inventory across nursing units, crash carts, and automated systems while handling controlled substances and monitoring expirations
• Enter and verify medication orders in hospital EMR systems to ensure accuracy of dosage, form, route, and frequency
• Support patient safety by checking labels,assisting with medication reconciliation, delivering medications, and preparing drugs for specialized populations
• Comply withUSP standards,maintain regulatory documentation, and take on specialized roles such as IV compounding, clinical support, or lead technician duties

• State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous Pharmacy Technician experience, preferred
• Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program, preferred
