Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL

We are seeking a
Diet Clerk,sometimes referred to asNutrition

Clerk or Dietary Clerk.

Under the direction of the dietitian, the Diet Clerk performs clinical support tasks related to reviewing and approving therapeutic menu selections.

The Diet Clerk willalso ensure patient trays areaccurateand served at appropriate temperatures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Review and update physician diet orders in the hospital’s EHR to ensure each patient receives meals matching their prescribed diet

• Assist patients with menu selections, print and distribute menus, and make substitutions when necessary

• Communicate diet change, allergy, and preference between nursing units, dietitians, and kitchen staff

• Enter andmaintainmeal orders, admissions, and discharges in the dietary computer system to keep records accurate

• Ensure diet accuracy, follow food safety standards, appropriate temperatures of patient trays and support quality checks within the nutrition department

• County Specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire and maintained current

• AA Degree in Food Science/Nutrition, preferred

• One (1) year of healthcare experience working with modified diets, preferred
