Mechanical Assembler
This role focuses on assembling conveyor systems in a fabrication shop environment using hand and power tools, tape measures, and mechanical assembly techniques. You will work from blueprints and measurements to build high-quality, reliable conveyor assemblies that meet precise specifications.
Responsibilities- Assemble conveyor systems and related components in a fabrication shop according to blueprints and specifications.
- Use tape measures to take accurate measurements and verify dimensions during assembly.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, fit, fasten, and adjust parts.
- Interpret and follow mechanical drawings and blueprints to ensure correct assembly sequences and layouts.
- Inspect assembled components for accuracy, quality, and proper alignment before completion.
- Identify and resolve basic mechanical issues or misalignments during the assembly process.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle tools and equipment with care.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with tools, equipment, and fabricated materials.
- Proven mechanical assembly experience in a shop or similar environment.
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Mechanical aptitude with strong hands-on skills using hand tools and power tools.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality assemblies.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience assembling conveyor systems or industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with fabrication shop practices and basic mechanical fabrication processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues during assembly.
- Solid understanding of workplace safety practices related to tools, equipment, and fabricated materials.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a fabrication shop environment focused on assembling conveyor systems and related mechanical components. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures while working around metal parts and fabricated structures. The role involves standing, moving, and handling components throughout the shift in a production-oriented setting. Appropriate work attire and adherence to safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment, are required to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gadsden, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
