Overview
We are seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry CNA
, also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele CNA in our Medical Surgical and Telemetry Departments. The Med-Surg/Telemetry CNA assists nurses by providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. They play a critical role in observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.
Shift Available: Nights
Hours: 12‑hour shifts: 7 p – 7 a

- Basic patient care: help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
- Vital signs monitoring: take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
- Mobility assistance: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.
- EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning — while Certified Nursing Assistants don’t usually interpret heart rhythms, they may recognize alarms and alert registered nurses.
- Observation: monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and notify nursing staff promptly.
Education and Work Experience
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire and maintain current status.
Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus
- Minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office.
