Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for providing high-quality, critical care to patients dealing with severe and life-threatening conditions. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer medications, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires advanced clinical skills, quick decision-making, and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations.
- Start Date:
Immediate - Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 (including stipend)
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and emotional health.
- Administer prescribed medications and intravenous therapies, monitoring patient responses.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans for critically ill patients.
- Continuously monitor vital signs and perform necessary interventions for life support.
- Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families about care plans and treatment processes.
- Participate actively in unit meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred;
Associate’s Degree considered with appropriate experience. - A minimum of 2 years of experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is preferred.
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are mandatory; additional certifications such as CCRN may be beneficial.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and handle multiple priorities effectively.
