This contract position offers a dynamic opportunity to provide dedicated support to learners with learning disabilities in a collaborative school environment. Qualifications:
  • Valid South Carolina Special Education Teacher certification, or in pending status
  • Experience working with students in self-contained learning disability (LD) classrooms preferred
  • Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
  • Strong classroom management skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for engaging students, parents, and school teams
  • Adaptability to meet diverse student needs and adjust instructional strategies
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in a self-contained LD environment following IEPs and curriculum requirements
  • Create a safe, supportive classroom atmosphere to foster learning, growth, and confidence in students with diverse learning needs
  • Monitor student progress, assess needs, and maintain accurate records of academic and behavioral data
  • Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Employ evidence-based strategies to address academic, social, and behavioral challenges
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and professional learning opportunities as needed
