We are adding one grade level per year and will be serving students in 4K through 8th grade next school year.

In the near future, we will also be applying for expansion of our charter to serve students in high school beginning in the 23-24 school year. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Teaches general music, including harmony, appreciation, history, and ensemble.

Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, including traditional and contemporary, that are appropriate for students' ages and skill levels.

Provides opportunities for music ensembles, choir, and musicals.

Differentiates music curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and the student body.

Plans a balanced music program and organizes daily class time to accomplish preparation, rehearsal, and instruction within the allotted time.

Develops and refines music curriculum based on state learning standards.

Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment during practice, group rehearsals, and music performances.

Communicates clearly with parents and school faculty/staff on the progress of individual students.

Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned music, musical instruments, and equipment.

Participates in staff meetings and professional development as needed.

Maintains professionalism at the workplace.

Qualifications Required

Minimum BA in Music or Music Education or related field

South Carolina teaching certificate

Ability to work with musicians at all skill levels

Strong instrumental skills, including piano accompaniment

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in fine arts, education, or related field

Previous experience teaching music in an educational setting
