Inside the Role
The Chassis Dynamics/Powertrain Engineering team develops, designs, and integrates chassis systems and ICE/EV powertrains into heavy‑duty specialty vehicles. Team members work on axles, suspensions, wheel‑end components, steering systems, drive lines, engines, transmissions, cooling packages, exhaust systems, aftertreatment systems, and electric motors for trucks, buses, RVs, and motor coaches.
Responsibilities- Use computer‑aided engineering (CAE) to solve complex vehicle design problems with finite element analysis (FEA) and multi‑body simulation (MBS).
- Design and develop mechanical products, components, and systems that involve movement.
- Create and refine product‑specific manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with marketing and industrial design teams to meet technical, functional, and manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements.
- Participate in design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype mechanical products and assemblies.
- BS/MEng in Mechanical Engineering (BSME or BSMET) or related field.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Basic understanding of engineering theories, practices, and procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with 3D design tools.
- Passion for automotive and hands‑on engineering application.
- Experience in technical writing is a plus.
Starting salary range: $71,000 – $91,000 USD.
