Overview

Mechanical/Mechatronic Product Validation Engineer/Tech — Gaffney, SC 29341

Supports the assembly and validation of prototype vehicles and mechanical systems for Reliability, Durability, and Functional testing. Develops and coordinates full vehicle build-up using standardized documentation and reporting processes. Devises build methodologies, test fixtures/vehicles, and procedures using specialized instrumentation, mechanisms, hydraulic and pneumatic power sources to execute assemblies.

• Provide feedback in early design phase of projects to design engineering by attending design reviews and DMU activities throughout the pre-build timeline
• Prepare and maintain vehicles used to support test activities
• Develop, conduct, and coordinate full vehicle and mechanical system functional performance, fuel economy, durability, mechanisms, and reliability testing, including material testing and failure analysis
• Devises and implements test methodologies, test fixtures, and procedures using specialized instrumentation tools, climatic wind tunnels and cold chambers, and hydraulic and pneumatic power sources to execute the required tests
• Ensure corrective measures meet acceptable performance, durability and reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements
• May be involved with setting up and coordinating product-specific assessment activities, workshops and/or ride & drives

• 4 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s/Associates degree with 1+ year of relevant experience
• Experience in the commercial vehicle industry and understanding end-user needs
• Preferred HV3 certification or ability to obtain within 90 days

• Knowledge in data acquisition systems such as eDAQ
• Knowledge of CANalyser and J1939
