Base pay: $34 - $38 per hour, depending on experience
1st shift:
Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Maintenance Mold Repair Technician repairs, and maintains mold, fixtures, and all other tooling in conformance to customer and/or company specifications per control plans. Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, set up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to make and repairs molds, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools. Maintains a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with procedures and safety regulations.
The Maintenance Mold Repair Technician will report to the Maintenance Manager.
- Reading and Interpreting Blueprints, design schematics and CAD drawings.
- Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
- Design jigs and templates as support in the fabrication of parts.
- Setting up and operate grinders, mills, lathes, drill presses, parts cleaning, basic ovens, band saws, jib hoists.
- Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled and complete assigned work orders.
- Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions. Grinding carbide, fit and assemble parts to make, repair or modify dies, jigs, gauges using machine and hand tools.
- Assemble and disassemble tools and mold parts supporting the production areas to guarantee tools are repaired on time to ensure the continuous production and increase plant productivity.
- Inspecting tools and dies for defects, perform repairs.
- Support Tooling Efficiency Improvement and Scrap Reduction Projects.
- Follow standard operating procedures for mold repairs and keep detailed records of tool maintenance, repairs, changeovers.
- Obtain training and certification for forklift and aerial lift operation as required.
- Utilize the overhead crane in compliance with OSHA and Company requirements.
- Assist with mold changes on injection molding machines.
- Troubleshoot and repair injection molding and auxiliary equipment.
- Comply & promote all environmental, health & safety programs, laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent mold required, two-year degree in a related field preferred.
- 5 Years experience as Maintenance Injection Mold Technician preferred.
- Experience. with metal working tools including drills, milling machines, grinders and lathes.
- In depth knowledge on troubleshooting in injection operation & assembly.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and experience on handling carbide tooling.
- Experience with quality control analysis.
- Proven experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, scales, height gages).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills by detecting potential problems.
- Excellent communication skills and working with teams.
- Autonomy, with little supervision.
- General experience in metallurgic knowledge understanding the properties of metals.
- Knowledge of trigonometry and shop math.
- Must be extremely strong on safety rules and regulations.
