Position: Associate, Sanitation (3rd Shift)

Your Mission

Assist the shift lead in training the sanitation crew and work with the crew in carrying out sanitation functions and activities, ensuring sanitation codes are followed and handling all sanitation obligations in the lead’s absence. All duties must comply with state and federal regulations, company policies, and procedures, including those related to food safety and quality.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist the lead in ensuring company equipment and facilities remain clean and in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Complete all required AIB food safety and quality modules on an annual basis or within 15 months of start date.
  • Consult with the lead to ascertain schedules, tasks, and problems that require immediate action.
  • Assist in task distribution and completion related to inspections.
  • Assist the lead in ensuring quality and quantity job outputs.
  • Ensure that all cleaning schedules and goals are accomplished on time.
  • Follow all instructions and procedures as outlined in the SSOP manual.
  • Motivate other employees to carry out their functions with strict adherence to the SSOPs.
  • Understand MSDS and use the appropriate chemical(s) recommended for equipment.
  • Use only standardized ratios for cleaning solution preparation as specified in the SSOP manual.
  • Dismantle, clean, and reassemble complex production line machinery.
  • Assist the lead in updating and maintaining detailed cleaning procedures in the plant.
  • Monitor cleaning methods of the sanitation crew.
  • Direct the crew to recommended procedures and ensure proper approaches and operations.
  • Comply with all safety standards and GMPs of the plant.
  • Ensure employees use safety wares provided by the company and request purchase and replacement of damaged safety supplies.
  • Assume the lead role when applicable due to PTO, off-site training, or other absences.
  • Assist the Manager in maintaining sanitation inventory by checking stocks of cleaning chemicals and tools and informing the Manager of needed supplies.
What You’ll Bring
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in food manufacturing sanitation operations or a similar position.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and apply all practical ideas, information, and instructions inherent in SSOPs.
  • Good knowledge of safety and GMPs, sanitation procedures, and chemical applications.
  • Physical ability to lift, push or pull weights over 50 lbs and operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and various cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate instructions to subordinate sanitation workers and trainees.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, overtime, and swing shifts.
  • Professional conduct, friendly interaction with all departments and workers, and adherence to company rules and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and problem‑solving skills with sound judgment.
