1st Shift - Welders Job Description
We are seeking experienced TIG/MIG Welders to join a high-quality automotive manufacturing operation in Gaffney, South Carolina. This position involves precision welding and minor weld rework on thin-gauge stainless-steel exhaust components. The ideal candidate will have strong welding skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work with thin stainless steel while maintaining strict quality standards.
SummaryAs a Welder, you will perform TIG and MIG welding and precision rework to meet strict quality and engineering requirements, supporting a fast-paced automotive exhaust manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform TIG and MIG welding on automotive exhaust components.
- Perform minor rework on weld defects, including:
- Burn-throughs
- Missed welds
- Cold welds
- Maintain the same width and height of the original robot weld during rework.
- Follow engineering drawings and weld specifications.
- Inspect welds for quality and identify defects requiring correction.
- Work with fixtures and understand how part fit, gaps, fixture cleanliness, and fixture alignment can impact weld quality.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures.
Rework must:
- Stay within the width and height of the robot weld.
- Follow the requirements of the drawing.
- Not add weld where the drawing does not call for it.
- Meet required quality standards.
- Previous TIG and/or MIG welding experience
- Experience welding thin-gauge stainless steel
- Ability to control heat and amperage
- Experience performing weld repair or rework
- Ability to identify common weld defects
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow drawings and specifications

Pay Rate: $21/hr
Schedule:
1st shift (10-hour shifts, 4 days/week; rotating schedules).
Typical rotation includes:
- Week 1:
Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat (Optional Sun) - Week 2:
Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs - Week 3:
Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat (Optional Sun)
