Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a SC or compact RN license and prior telemetry experience within a resource float pool.

• Active SC or compact RN license required, pending license accepted if obtained before start
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required, though candidates with 1+ years may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, ideally with 3 years of MS/Tele experience
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must pass arrhythmia and medication competency tests on the first day of orientation with only one attempt allowed
• May be required to shave facial hair to pass an onsite respirator fit test

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Allocated to a designated campus but may float to the main campus or other units within the health system as needed based on facility needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• On-call required, including 2 on-call shifts or 2 additional shifts per 6-week period
• Holiday coverage required as part of on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
• First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible, as local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted with the initial application, as requests made after submission will not be considered
• Facility has an attendance policy for travelers; missing more than two shifts during the 13‑week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
• Candidates who were previously permanent staff at this health system are not eligible to return as travelers
• Open to candidates seeking 48‑hour weekly schedules
• This is a resource pool position with floating expected across multiple campuses within scope of practice
