Position Summary
The Shipping Associate is responsible for coordinating and processing outbound shipments to ensure products are delivered accurately and on time. This role involves utilizing the Dynamics ERP system to process shipments, preparing shipping documentation, labeling containers, and verifying freight is staged in the correct shipping locations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Key Responsibilities- Process and confirm customer shipments using the Dynamics Business Central ERP system and customer shipping systems.
- Prepare and maintain all required shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, freight paperwork, and carrier documentation.
- Label containers, packages, and pallets accurately according to internal, customer, and carrier requirements.
- Verify product quantities, part numbers, and shipment details prior to shipment release.
- Ensure freight is identified, staged, and located in the proper shipping areas for carrier pickup.
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate shipments.
- Track and update shipment information in company systems.
- Maintain organized shipping records and filing systems.
- Assist with material inventory and shipping audits as required.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts within shipping and logistics operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous shipping, warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience.
- Experience working with ERP systems;
Microsoft Dynamics ERP experience is a plus. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including:
Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word Microsoft Outlook - Strong computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in a warehouse and shipping environment.
- Knowledge of freight carriers, shipping documentation, and logistics processes.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience with inventory management and warehouse operations.
