Job Summary
Join our team as an Engineering Technician and play a key role in supporting city infrastructure by providing hands‑on technical and engineering expertise across water, sewer, roadway, and drainage projects. In this position, you’ll oversee onsite construction activities, ensure compliance with engineering standards, and serve as a vital link between contractors, residents, and the City of Gahanna. You’ll also contribute to project design, surveying, GIS updates, and the evaluation of public infrastructure conditions.

The starting salary is between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($56,222 annually – $68,868 annually). Candidates will start at the minimum of the range unless their skills, experience, education or other factors exceed the qualifications for the position.

Minimum QualificationsAny combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. A typical way to qualify is a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year university in Construction Management or a related field or an associate’s degree from an accredited two‑year college or technical school and two (2) years of experience.
- Licensure or Certification Requirements:
- Engineering Intern registration (desired)
- Certified Professional in Sediment and Erosion Control (desired)
- Certified Storm Water Manager (desired)
- Current and valid Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract to meet criteria for insurability established by the City of Gahanna.
