Lead Substation Engineer – Pittsburgh, PA

Lead conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation design for medium to large scale utilities/substations, including layout, electrical arrangement, drawings, grounding, and AC/DC system diagrams. Manage technical design, staffing, schedule, and budget. Conduct quality control reviews, develop and review project proposals, and continually improve team quality and efficiency.

• Lead conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation design.
• Take complete ownership of each project, managing technical design, staffing, schedule, and budget.
• Communicate with internal teams and clients to meet project objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Develop and review project proposals, including scopes of work and cost estimates.
• Perform quality control reviews on medium to large substation projects.
• Continuously improve and maximize team quality and efficiency.

• Interfacing with local clients and partnering with utility clients nationwide.
• Working on projects ranging from distribution to transmission level voltages.
• Electrical power calculations and interactions with other disciplines.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of direct experience in substation design.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E) license (preferred).
• Master’s degree in related field (preferred).
• Experience leading a project team (preferred).
