Production Lead

RTP Company is seeking a Production Lead who takes direction from the Plant Manager and provides day-to-day technical direction for an assigned production team.

Work Schedule
: 2nd Shift Production

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 1:45 PM to 10:00 PM with occasional Saturday work.

• Under the direction of the Plant Manager, lead production staff in daily activities.
• Help administer training, including safety training, for new employees and long-term employees on the production team.
• Conduct performance evaluations of staff.
• Project raw and finished material needs for given time periods.
• Work to minimize product loss and production-related waste.
• Document work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
• Assist in the maintenance of equipment by effectively communicating issues or any potential problems.
• Communicate with Warehouse support to maintain appropriate production schedules.
• Ensure the plant is maintained in accordance with safety and housekeeping policies and guidelines.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work processes, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
• Must be able to operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality production.
• Must be capable of multi-tasking and working both as a team and independently.
• Must be well organized and have a strong attention to detail.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate courtesy and tact with people in various positions and levels within the company.
• Must have strong interpersonal, training, and coaching skills.
• Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Must maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Must be dependable and have excellent attendance.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed.
• Must be able to pass a forklift test and a respirator fit test.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Required previous manufacturing experience related to RTP production operations.
• Preferred previous supervisor experience.
• Preferred high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred forklift experience.

Physical Requirements and

Working Conditions:

• Regularly — Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; talk and hear to coordinate and operate equipment; use of safety equipment as dictated by the work (safety glasses, safety shoes, respirators, face shields, hearing protection, gloves, etc.); exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently — Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; work in temperature extremes, wet and/or humid conditions, with dust, fumes, airborne particles.
• Occasionally — Sit; handle (with mechanical equipment) up to 250 pounds; exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level requiring use of hearing protection.
• Other — Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
