Triage Specialist RN - Pediatric and Adolescent Practitioners

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Conduct telephone triage for patient health complaints using an electronic triage assessment tool (Schmitt‑Thompson)
• Navigate multiple electronic platforms to assess current health complaint, patients’ electronic chart, PCP appointment scheduling, and ancillary center scheduling to have appropriate and timely documentation
• Document phone call details in tracking system for department data tracking and collection.
• Assess, identify, and close patient care gaps.
• Follow and execute all policies, procedures, and job responsibilities instructed by direct supervisor.
• Develop positive and effective working relationship with COPC staff, offices, and physicians.

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted registered nurse license in the state of Ohio.
• Two years minimum Registered Nurse experience in a hospital and/or medical practice setting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Experience in telephonic nursing triage, preferred but not required.
• Exceptional active listening, communication, and documentation skills, required.
• Excellent customer service skills, and mind‑set, required.
• Ability to collaborate with a team, required.
• Ability to adapt to department growth, expansion, and policies/ procedures, required.
• Experience in pediatrics required.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, such as Excel, required.
• Proficient knowledge of electronic health records, required.
