Position: HVAC Field Superintendent (Traveling)

Position

Summary

The HVAC Field Superintendent (Traveling) will oversee all phases of the installation of HVAC systems in new construction sites within multiple communities.

Standard Work Schedule
  • Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm. Must be willing to be flexible as jobs may change.
Position Responsibilities
  • Develops a schedule to meet production demands and successful completion of inspections in assigned communities.
  • Read, understand, and execute HVAC equipment installation instructions, duct layouts, shop drawings, and plans.
  • Collaborate with general contractors/builders, inspectors, and project managers to ensure successful completion of units in assigned communities.
  • Coordinate and schedule the work activities of PCIs and company installation crews to deliver instructions and work assignments as appropriate.
  • Forecast to ensure all sites have all material and equipment needed on the job site.
  • Regularly inspect work for quality, completeness, and timeliness; prepare and provide progress reports for general contractors/builders, internal management teams, and make recommendations for necessary corrections.
  • Perform punch work to help move units to inspection.
  • Collaborate with general contractors/builders, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure specifications, code, and zoning requirements are met.
  • Ensure correct equipment locations, duct layouts and duct sizing are followed, and refrigerant line sets are installed properly in the locations specified by the general contractor/builder.
  • Coordinate EPO work requests and quoted charges with the admin team for approval prior to completing work.
  • Balance work between communities to ensure all general contractors/builders and schedules are being met and inspections are called in a timely manner.
  • Address any safety violations or other deficiencies and issue safety violations as needed.
  • Ensure job site remains clean of excess material and debris.
  • Walk job sites daily to ensure progress is being met as scheduled.
  • Maintain knowledge of the national code and state‑specific codes/amendments and understand how they are applied in projects in the surrounding areas.
  • Provide learning and development opportunities through coaching, managing performance, and mentoring.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years HVAC supervisory experience (Installation or Service).
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Thorough understanding of HVAC installation and industry best practices.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
  • Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
