Position: Audit Partner $280k-$300k

Whitman Advisory is partnering with a respected CPA and advisory firm, in the search for an experienced Audit Partner to join their Gainesville, Florida office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned audit leader who is a CPA and brings strong experience serving Not-for-Profit / Nonprofit organizations
. The ideal candidate will have a strong public accounting background, proven client relationship skills, and the ability to lead audit engagements while contributing to the continued growth of the firm’s assurance practice.

Key Responsibilities

The Audit Partner will be responsible for leading audit and assurance engagements, managing client relationships, mentoring teams, and supporting firm growth initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and oversee audit, review, and assurance engagements for nonprofit and not-for-profit clients
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Manage client relationships and ensure a high level of service, communication, and responsiveness
  • Review audit work papers, financial statements, and engagement deliverables
  • Provide technical leadership on nonprofit accounting, audit standards, and compliance matters
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop audit managers, seniors, and staff
  • Support business development efforts, including expanding existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on practice growth, client strategy, and operational excellence
  • Ensure engagements are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with firm standards and professional requirements
Qualifications
  • Active CPA license required
  • Partner-level or senior audit leadership experience within a public accounting / CPA firm
  • Strong background in audit and assurance services
  • Significant experience working with Not-for-Profit / Nonprofit clients
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit standards, internal controls, and nonprofit reporting requirements
  • Experience with Single Audits, government funding, grants, or compliance-related engagements is highly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead engagement teams
  • Strong communication, leadership, and client service skills
  • Business development experience or an existing referral network is a plus
  • Must be comfortable working with clients and teams in a collaborative, professional environment
