- Reconciles UF Research operating projects for the Assistant Director of Accounting's review and initiates necessary corrections.
- Manages cash-based projects for UF Research; tracks multi-year projects through the full commitment lifecycle (creation, funding transfers, extensions, expense reviews, closures); generates expired project listings monthly; provides back-up for IDC and VPDSR shared inboxes.
- Reviews financial charges based on UF fiscal policy, confirms proper documentation, and approves them in the People Soft system; ensures purchases comply with UF Procurement Directives and Procedures; records equipment in my Assets.
- Provides financial reports for UF Research operating cost centers to directors periodically or upon request.
- Assists the Finance Director and the Assistant Director of Accounting with special projects as assigned.
Required:
- Accountant I: A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
- Accountant II: A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of experience.
- Critical thinking, problem solving, and excellent verbal and written communication; professional interaction with administration, staff, students, and the public.
- Excellent computer skills; proficiency in People Soft, Workday, Enterprise Analytics, Concur, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks and time, make responsible decisions, work independently, analyze problems, and implement solutions.
- Excellent customer service, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
- Experience managing multi-year award programs.
- Experience preparing or auditing expense reconciliations at UF.
- Understanding of UF purchasing, disbursement and travel directives; internal controls at UF; and the F&A Cost Return & Use Policy.
