The Department of Psychiatry in the College of Medicine is looking for a part-time Administrative Assistant with exceptional computer skills and an interest in clerical and business to support the Department of Psychiatry Addiction Medicine Division with administrative needs.
Hours are flexible with availability between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday. This is an on-site position, located at UF Health Florida Recovery Center (4305 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32606).
The Administrative Support Assistant is responsible for providing essential clerical and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the office. This role acts as a backup of public contact, responding to inquiries via email, phone, and in person. The Assistant communicates information about standard services and explains routine policies and procedures within established guidelines, including articulating the evaluation process and associated fees, though scheduling appointments is not required.
Additional responsibilities include preparing and sending faxes and emails to obtain collateral information and records, assembling charts for upcoming evaluation appointments—such as preparing lab order forms, release forms, and questionnaires—and supporting document management through faxing, scanning, copying, and printing. The role also provides back-up support to administrative and front desk staff as needed and may assist with event logistics, including set-up and breakdown.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a professional office environment.
$16.50/hr.
