OPS Administrative Assistant
CAS is a medium throughput collaborative center that facilitates a variety of research projects by preparing samples for MALDI-MSI analysis. Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) is a novel technique that combines spatial information with mass spectra, generating powerful insights into cancer biology, neurodegenerative disease, and developmental biology among other key research questions. This position will play a key role in facilitating research by performing administrative and organizational tasks. CAS collaborates with a variety of internal and external groups. These collaborations are most successful when active contact is maintained throughout the sample preparation process through periodic Zoom meetings. The successful candidate will contribute to seamless and productive collaborations by scheduling meetings with collaborators, monitoring reagent supply, placing orders, and organizing files while working cooperatively with CAS 's technicians and collaborators.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the calendar of Ramon Sun and CAS
- Schedule Zoom meetings
- Monitor reagent supply
- Order reagents
- Receive packages and ship samples
- Prepare invoices and follow-up on collaborator invoicing
$15-$16 per hour, commensurate with experience
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
- Critical thinking and situational awareness
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research environment
- Interest in contributing to cutting edge research
- Experience working in laboratory environment
- Working knowledge of chemistry and biology
- Skills in basic mechanical or computer repair
