STAFF ASSISTANT OPS

This highly responsible position serves as the Staff Assistant OPS within Nursing Services. The role is a collaborative team player who works seamlessly across all sections within the program office. It requires independent judgment, proactive approach, and exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • The incumbent will act as the HR liaison, facilitating and submitting documents/requests to HR (new hire packets, personnel actions, position descriptions, classification request forms, etc.).
  • Coordinate incident reporting data analysis, abuse reporting investigations, mortality review committee coordination, disaster planning operations support, and safety committee support.
  • Administer reporting and data gathering/analysis for quality improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare incident reports and gather “significant information” such as admission, treatment and discharge data.
  • Develop database/spreadsheet for analysis of incident data, medical diagnostics and results.
  • Facilitate facility quality improvement initiatives based on data.
  • Coordinate risk management correspondence and interface with DCF Mental Health Program Office reporting requirements.
  • Compile and analyze data for administrative decisions.
  • Draft memoranda and correspondence for administrative decisions and policies.
  • Collect and present data for budget preparation.
  • Implement budget control methods across fiscal, personnel and administrative areas.
  • Interpret established policy and provide information for problem resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Three years of secretarial or clerical work experience.
  • College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.
  • Vocational/technical training in secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience.
