Job TitlePostal Associate II
Job Description- Lead daily mail processing, sorting, and delivery activities at the designated mail service location.
- Ensure daily coverage of mail routes and timely deliveries of accountable mail.
- Provide high quality customer service and maintain excellent communication with all departments.
- Efficiently reroute misdirected mail via directory services and keep current knowledge of campus organizational changes.
- Provide regular feedback to supervisor on route inefficiencies, department relocations or additions, personnel changes, and traffic considerations.
- Maintain and continuously improve efficiencies in the mail delivery process; recommend changes as needed.
- Record daily vehicle usage and report vehicle maintenance and upkeep to supervisor.
- Receive, sort, and campus deliver U.S. Postal Service, Amazon packages, and UF departmental mail; track accountable mail using the QTrak tracking system.
- Perform daily count of incoming mail, including letters and packages, and internal campus mail.
- Assist supervisor and senior mail staff in daily operations; assume supervisory duties when absent, handling telephone calls and operational issues.
- Maintain current knowledge of mail handling techniques, hazardous materials guidelines, and traffic regulations.
- Develop reports and handle special projects as assigned.
- Valid driver's license of class required for Mail Service vehicle.
- 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Flexibility required to accommodate department needs, including occasional Saturday work.
$19.00 to $20.00 per hour
Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
