Position: Admissions Officer II (Events)

Admissions Officer II

The University of Florida is looking for an Admissions Officer II to support admissions recruitment and enrollment initiatives through the planning and execution of high-impact events and student engagement activities. In this role, you will coordinate admissions and recruitment programs, manage event logistics and communications, and collaborate with campus partners to deliver exceptional experiences for prospective and admitted students and their families, and serve as a resource throughout the admissions process, including advising applicants and conducting freshman holistic application reviews.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Admissions Event Planning & Coordination
  • Support the planning and execution of admissions and recruitment events in collaboration with the Event Planner III and Assistant Director.
  • Research, recommend, and coordinate facilities, catering, transportation, permits, audio-visual services, and other event logistics.
  • Develop and distribute event materials, schedules, and communications to support successful program delivery.
  • Monitor event budgets and track expenses to ensure responsible stewardship of resources.
  • Coordinate with Enrollment Management Finance to process contracts, invoices, and vendor payments.
  • Assist with on-site event operations for campus, virtual, and occasional off-campus programs.
  • Troubleshoot event-related issues and escalate concerns as appropriate.
  • Provide direction to student assistants and temporary staff supporting admissions events.
  • Load, transport, and unload admissions materials and event supplies (up to 40 pounds) and operate a state vehicle in support of recruitment activities.
  • Identify strengths and opportunities for improvement to enhance future admissions programming.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with campus partners, academic colleges, alumni, student organizations, and other stakeholders to support admissions programs.
  • Manage invitations, registration systems, attendee communications, and other event-planning resources.
  • Ensure communications and event information are accurate, timely, and audience-focused.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to prospective students, families, and campus partners.
  • Gather and compile attendee and stakeholder feedback following events.
  • Admissions Operations
  • Provide admissions counseling to prospective students and families through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Conduct freshman holistic application reviews in accordance with university policies and procedures.
  • Advise applicants regarding admissions requirements and supporting documentation, including transcripts, test scores, application fees, and other credentials.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource on admissions policies, procedures, and enrollment processes.
  • Other Duties
  • Support the Office of Admissions in achieving enrollment and recruitment goals.
  • Travel occasionally to support recruitment and admissions programs both within Florida and out of state.
  • Provide lobby support and assist visitors within the Office of Admissions.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned in support of department and division goals.

Expected Salary: $47,500 annually. In addition, UF offers the following exceptional benefits:

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience. Valid driver's license.

Preferred:
Strong communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and guests. Ability to exercise good judgment and work with minimal supervision. Demonstrated abilities in problem-solving and attention to detail. Strong organizational and time management skills. Experience with budgeting and cost management, including creating and managing event budgets. Knowledge of campus operations and logistics, including transportation, parking, and facilities management.
