Job DescriptionSG Bike Repair is a service provided by Student Government to facilitate a convenient location for cyclists to get their bikes repaired. The student assistant is a key support staff member within SG Bike Repair. Bike Repair is located on the ground floor of the J. Wayne Reitz Union.
- Operate the front counter area and serve as cashier on point-of-sale register
- Close Bike Repair shop and reconcile daily reports
- Maintain, organize, and inventory all equipment and work spaces within Bike Repair
- Monitor Bike Repair for vandalism and functionality and reports any Bike Repair issues or equipment failures to the Supervisor.
- General clerical and maintenance duties including: answering phones, checking voicemails, picking up trash as needed, cleaning counter area
- Communicate with supervisors, noting problems that arise during shifts, equipment failures and other issues that affect the smooth operation of the Bike Repair.
- Complete all training requirements upon being hired in a timely fashion
- Ability to commit to working 10-20 hours per week
- Other duties as assigned
$16/hr
Required QualificationsQualifications refer to evidence-based or demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences required for the role. For TEAMS positions the required qualifications should reflect Classification Minimum Requirements. For Faculty roles, these qualifications may reflect college-specific requirements needed for success the role.
- Be a current University of Florida full-time student in good standing with the University
- Demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Establish an exemplary work ethic by being dependable, productive, paying attention to details and maintaining effective communication.
- Participate in all scheduled meetings, training's and evaluations
- Demonstrate previous experience with customer service
- Proficient with verbal and written communication
- Exhibit the ability to handle money transactions correctly and without error
