Job DescriptionWork with Physical Security Coordinator(s), this position will collaborate and coordinate programming of new physical security infrastructure via the Lenel and Genetec platforms. and implement processes and workflows that efficiently maintain the Department’s day-to-day operations.
Provide administrative support to the Department to include providing customer service, providing tier 1 support to phone calls, software tickets, and hardware tickets as necessary,
Assist with meeting deadlines for Physical Security projects. Provide project status and updates on projects across campus. Assist with monitoring work request tickets, verifying security equipment functionality, website content development.
This position will also serve as the Department’s assistant UF identity management coordinator and maintain data related to faculty and staff identification in the UF Directory.
Other administrative responsibilities include maintaining the Space Report and acting as the Department Security Administrator (DSA). Responsible for Asset Management and ensuring assets are accounted for, and Asset Identification Numbers are affixed to university property in accordance with university policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

This position requires a Class E State of Florida Driver’s License.
Normal Work ScheduleNormal work schedule Monday-Friday 8 a.m.
-5 p.m. Total hours/week: 40.
Occasional overtime is required. Off campus travel may be required.
Expected Salary$19.23 to $21.00 Hourly
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred- Associate degree in IT or Programming Technology, or an equivalent combination of experience in an appropriate area and two years of software helpdesk experience.
- Experience working at the University of Florida, and/or higher education preferred.
- Basic knowledge of an access control and/or video management system.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to successfully manage multiple priorities. Experience in dealing with the public in a professional manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and accurately. Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, ability to work independently and problem-solving capabilities.
- Accuracy, attention to detail and a customer service-oriented attitude are essential for success in this position.
- Computer proficiency in these areas:
Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), familiarity with MS Visio, Windows, and Internet browsers (preferably Internet Explorer). - Knowledge of office procedures
- Knowledge of the principles of correct grammar usage
- Knowledge of university computer information systems (People Soft) Knowledge of basic computer usage
- Ability to sort data alphabetically, numerically and categorically Ability to organize files, records and/or other materials
- Ability to follow office procedures and practices
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Ability to handle routine customer and employee request Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships
