Full time - M-F 8:00 a.m.

DESCRIPTION:
Join our team at the Alachua County Clerk of the Circuit Court as a Staff Assistant in our Traffic Department. A Staff Assistant in the Traffic Department is expected to perform a variety of clerical duties relating to traffic and other civil infraction cases, including the processing and maintenance of records and associated payment of fees and court costs. Documents must be accurately and efficiently handled and the Staff Assistant serves as a point of contact for the public and legal professionals, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the integrity of court records.
For new hire placement, this position is historically filled at a Level I. Active staff members in this position have the opportunity to progress to Levels II-IV, as the employee becomes proficient in more advanced and specialized tasks.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or higher education in a related field is a plus. Previous experience in a legal or clerical environment; experience in case management; and/or customer service is advantageous.
Must have the ability to deal effectively with customers and resolve problems in a courteous, cool-tempered, and professional manner; as well as efficiently perform detailed work in a fast-paced environment. Must also have the ability to work with and maintain confidential and/or sensitive data and comply with legal advice restrictions of the Clerk's Office.
