Position Title: Billing Specialist
Location: Gainesville, FL
Pay Rate: $17.65/hour | Non-Exempt

About the RoleAs a Billing Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the efficiency and accuracy of Meridian's billing operations. This position is essential in ensuring timely processing, reconciliation, and management of client accounts.
Key Responsibilities- Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of billing processes
- Support a broad range of billing functions, including contract and insurance billing
- Process claim denials and manage follow-up actions
- Review and maintain Aging Reports (AR)
- Manage and maintain accurate client account records
- Submit claims electronically and via paper when needed
- Maintain contract, self-pay, and inpatient billing records
- Post payments, adjustments, deductibles, and co-payments accurately
- Verify and reconcile payments against Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
- Process approved refunds and resolve credit balances
- Ensure proper application of copays and deductibles
- Provide support to team members and assist with additional tasks as needed
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree (preferred), ideally in Business or a related field, with experience in clerical, administrative, or billing functions
OR - High school diploma (or equivalent) with at least two (2) years of experience in a clinical setting and/or third-party billing
- Typing speed of at least 27 words per minute (WPM), validated through a prescreen assessment
- Minimum score of 65% on general assessment
