Shift Timing:
Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 4 PM or 8 AM - 5 PM
Pay Rate: $25 - $27 per hour (W2)
The Construction Planner I is responsible for performing field engineering on proposed construction projects and ensuring cost-effective design solutions. This entry-level role includes coordinating customer implementation activities, such as site walk-throughs, subcontractor labor, and permitting. The Construction Planner I also assists in estimating project costs, managing budgets, and ensuring timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities:Field Engineering & Design:
Ensure cost-effective designs for construction by performing field engineering and evaluating routing alternatives.Customer Coordination:
Coordinate all customer implementation activities, including site walk-throughs, node placements, and subcontract labor.Permit & Access Management:
Secure necessary permits, access rights, and right-of-way (ROW) agreements as applicable.Project Estimation & Budgeting:
Prepare construction cost estimates, material requirements, and track project expenses. Assist in managing revenue forecasts, capital, and expense budgets.Stakeholder Communication:
Collaborate with public works personnel, developers, commercial customers, building owners, and utilities on joint trench projects.Workflow Management:
Maintain workflow databases, update schedules, and reconcile project tasks for proper closure.Material Planning & Procurement:
Order materials and coordinate with administrative personnel. Verify and reconcile invoices as needed.Serviceability & Routing:
Verify serviceability, survey proposed service routes, and estimate material, labor, and construction costs.Inspection Coordination:
Inspect construction work or coordinate inspection assignments as necessary.
Experience: 0-2 years in construction planning, estimating, or related field.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Project Management Experience:
Preferred but not required.Other Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to work under close supervision with limited independent judgment.
