This position is part of the Market Expansion Team, focusing on field engineering for proposed projects. The role involves ensuring alternative routing delivers the most cost-effective design for construction and fiber projects.
- Coordinate all customer implementation activities, including site walk-throughs, node placements, and subcontract labor.
- Coordinate contractor work, obtain necessary permits, access, or right-of-way agreements, and distribute design prints and other working documents.
- Negotiate and approve design or construction changes.
- Research and review plans, gather necessary data, and list material requirements for projects.
- Coordinate with public works personnel, developers, commercial customers, building owners, and utilities on joint trench projects.
- Maintain workflow databases and update schedules.
- Participate in managing and estimating cost forecasts, material planning, capital, and expense budgets.
- Estimate construction costs, prepare budgets, and track expenses.
- Verify serviceability, survey proposed service routing, and estimate material, construction, and labor costs.
- Initiate customer contacts, coordinate and secure access or right-of-way agreements, complete route designs, and take necessary steps to meet customer needs.
- Order materials or coordinate with administrative personnel; verify and reconcile invoices.
- Plan and allocate fibers for splicing and activation.
- Inspect construction work or coordinate inspection assignments.
- Release addresses as serviceable and notify other departments of serviceability.
- As projects are completed, perform tasks to close tasks in database/tools, reconcile assets, and generate reports to ensure proper closure of projects.
- Experience in estimating construction costs, preparing budgets, and tracking expenses.
- Participate in managing and estimating revenue forecasts, material planning, capital, and expense budgets.
- Verify serviceability, survey proposed service routing, and estimate material, construction, and labor costs.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent communication skills and preferable project management experience.
The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, with a schedule of 7-4 or 8-5, including a one-hour lunch break, totaling 40 hours per week. The role supports the Market Expansion Team in Central Florida. Worksites are located in Gainesville and Ocala. This position does not require driving and is not a supervisory or safety-sensitive role. The worksite is in Gainesville, and the position is heavily administrative.
Local candidates with industry experience, project management skills, and strong organizational abilities are preferred.
