Job Purpose:

The Project Manager I is responsible for learning and applying the CROM Project Management System while supporting successful project execution through disciplined project controls, communication, documentation management, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

The PM I develops foundational project management skills while managing assigned responsibilities under the guidance of more experienced project leadership. The PM I supports the moving parts of active projects so that work is executed safely, under a high standard of quality, and with purpose-driven efficiency.

The PM I works closely with internal departments, Superintendents, clients, owners, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and assigned project leaders as directed by project leadership.

1. Project Management Responsibilities:
  • a. Learn and apply CROM project management processes, standards, operating procedures, project controls, documentation expectations, and communication practices.
  • b. Review project contracts, plans, specifications, addenda, schedules, safety requirements, quality requirements, startup requirements, and assigned project responsibilities under the guidance of more experienced project leadership.
  • c. Support project startup activities including startup packages, procurement coordination, scheduling, project documentation, project folders, project controls, and information needed by on-site Superintendents.
  • d. Assist with CPM project schedules and look-ahead schedules based on project requirements, field progress, and direction from assigned project leadership.
  • e. Coordinate assigned drawing, submittal, procurement, and documentation activities with Drafting, Engineering, Procurement, subcontractors, vendors, and project leadership.
  • f. Maintain project controls including submittal logs, RFI logs, procurement tracking, action item logs, document management, meeting notes, project reports, and organized project files.
  • g. Participate in EPIR, CCTS, job cost reviews, monthly WIP preparation, budget awareness, cost tracking, and forecast development under guidance from project leadership.
  • h. Support communication with assigned Superintendents and project teams under direction of project leadership to help track progress, open items, safety awareness, quality expectations, and field coordination needs.
  • i. Assist with change documentation, delay documentation, project reporting, inspections, closeout activities, post-project reviews, and other assigned project management responsibilities.
  • j. Support safe, quality-focused project execution by helping ensure required safety, QA/QC, inspection, testing, and documentation requirements are communicated and tracked.
2. Project Controls, Financial Awareness, and Risk Support:
  • a. Accurately maintain project documentation and project controls with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • b. Prepare timely and accurate project reports, logs, tracking tools, and project documentation as assigned.
  • c. Learn budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, WIP preparation, schedule controls, submittals, RFIs, procurement tracking, and closeout processes.
  • d. Escalate risks, open issues, documentation gaps, field concerns, schedule impacts, and cost-related issues promptly to assigned project leadership.
3. Communication, Collaboration, and Professional Growth:
  • a. Coordinate assigned project activities with Superintendents, clients, subcontractors, vendors, internal departments, and other project stakeholders as directed.
  • b. Maintain proactive communication with field leadership and assigned project leadership to ensure responsibilities are understood, tracked, and completed.
  • c. Demonstrate accountability, responsiveness, ownership, and professional follow-through in support of the project team.
  • d. Actively participate in monthly department meetings and complete assigned department responsibilities.
4. Professional Conduct/Development:
  • a. Build professional and technical knowledge through continuing education, review of professional publications, personal networks, professional societies, and educational workshops at the direction of the department manager.
  • b. Maintain and enhance the Company’s image through professional demeanor and appropriate methods of conducting business.
