The Department of Recreational Sports is currently looking for a Multimedia Assistant to join our energetic team and move Gators towards lifelong wellbeing! Multimedia Assistants are visually minded, storytellers at heart, and energized by creative challenges and reimagining what’s possible.

Successful candidates will begin work at the beginning of Fall 2026.

Team Member Responsibilities
  • Develop professional relationships with co-workers, participants, and guests
  • Uphold and exceed the expectations of the Cornerstones of Rec Sports Service: accountability, anticipating needs, attitude, and atmosphere
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and apply knowledge as a Rec Sports ambassador
  • Take ownership of Rec Sports facilities and programs by exhibiting a responsible work ethic
  • Promote and maintain cleanliness and appearance within and surrounding Rec Sports facilities
  • Enforce Rec Sports policies and procedures to promote participant safety and satisfaction
  • Respond to all emergency situations and adhere to established protocol including pre- and post-incident procedures
  • Abide by the Rec Sports Student Staff Code of Conduct that clarifies shared expectations and standards in effort to best serve our patrons, develop each team member, and prepare student employees for future career endeavors
Fall Kick-Off 2026
  • All Rec Sports Student Staff are expected to attend and will be paid for their training time.
  • Fall Kick-Off is scheduled for August 18, 2026. All staff must attend; additional unit-specific trainings are scheduled from August 12‑18, 2026.
Unit‑Specific

Job Responsibilities
  • Film, photograph, and edit projects highlighting Rec Sports programs, student spaces, and student experiences
    • Preferred candidates have a strong skill or interest in either video or photography; distributed across both disciplines is acceptable.
  • Assist in the planning, development, and execution of production plans
  • Maintain care of photo and video equipment
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, and vendors in an agency‑style work environment with both student and professional staff, including graphic designers, marketing assistants, communication specialists, and more
Additional Information
  • The department’s camera ecosystem consists of Blackmagic Cinema Cameras and Canon Digital SLRs
  • Student Life Marketing utilizes Adobe Creative Cloud (Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere, Audition, After Effects, Media Encoder, Bridge), Photo Mechanic, and Davinci Resolve for post‑production workflows
Required Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled University of Florida student
  • Willing to work 10‑12 hours per week
  • Available to work weekdays, and some evenings and weekends
  • Demonstrated previous experience utilizing videography and photography equipment and Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere, Audition, After Effects, Media Encoder, Bridge

Position open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS). Must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. Registered students are employed part‑time, up to 20 hours per week and may work additional hours with an approved Hours Extension Form.

  • Interest in building positive relationships that enhance the UF community
  • Solid filming, photography, and editing skills with ability to craft consistent voice and tone with imagery
  • Willingness to learn the department’s production equipment and industry‑standard techniques and safety practices for grip, gaff, sound, lighting, and camera equipment
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and eye for detail and accuracy
  • Creative, strategic, collaborative mindset to educate community on UF experience opportunities
