Gainesville Neon & Signs is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our team. This is more than a traditional design position. We're seeking a creative professional who can design impactful signage and contribute to the production process that brings those designs to life.
From vehicle graphics and dimensional signs to storefront branding and way finding systems, you'll play a key role in creating visual solutions that help businesses stand out. Responsibilities:- Read and interpret work orders to create accurate sign layouts and designs.
- Design custom signage, graphics, and visual branding solutions using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Prepare print-ready files and ensure artwork meets production requirements.
- Review and modify customer-supplied artwork for optimal print and fabrication results.
- Determine layout, typography, sizing, colors, and graphic placement based on design objectives and production specifications.
- Coordinate with customers and team members to expedite proofs, revisions, and artwork approvals.
- Operate vinyl plotters to produce cut-vinyl graphics and lettering.
- Assist with large-format printing and ensure production quality standards are met.
- Perform quality control reviews before and after production to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Assist with production tasks, including vinyl application, weeding, laminating, mounting prints, cutting, painting, and substrate preparation.
- Support CNC operations and other sign fabrication processes.
- Assist with on-site and off-site sign installations as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience in the sign, print, graphics, or visual communications industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of print production and file preparation.
- Valid driver's license.
- Able to work on school campuses.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable using power tools and production equipment.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn all aspects of the sign-making process.
Minimal to Moderate Experience - $18-$23 hourly
Moderate to Extensive Experience - $23-$30 hourly
Full-time schedule:Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
